Sermon Title: "A 'Formless' Christ?"

Sermon: In the late 1960's, the famous author and theologian Francis Schaeffer sounded the alarm in the Western Church when he wrote, "We have come to the fearsome place where the word “Jesus” has become the enemy of the Person Jesus, and the enemy of what Jesus taught" ("Escape From Reason", 1968). Fast forward 46 years to the present day, and the landscape has not changed. What does it actually mean to believe in and follow the One who says of Himself, "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life" (John 14:6)? This Sunday, Jesus will tell us plainly. "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments" (John 14:15).
