Sermon: "The Kingdom of Our God Cannot Be Shaken" | Nick Braunschneider

As Election Day approaches, anxiety is running high. Certainly, this is an important moment in this nation's history. What cannot be forgotten, however, is the fact that Christians are on the winning team, regardless of who is announced president on November 5th.

Sermon: "The Importance of Moving Into Maturity" | Nick Braunschneider

God wants us to press on toward maturity. Is this a primary goal of your life? In this Sunday's text from Hebrews, we will learn the concrete benefits of growing into a spiritually mature Christian, and the danger that looms for one who is developmentally-stunted. The author of Hebrews exhorts every Christian to "leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity" (Hebrews 6:1). Our growth is always by the grace of God...and it's also a conscious, personal choice.

Sermon: "Glory Clashes With the Cross" | Nick Braunschneider

As Jesus attempts to prepare His disciples for His sacrificial death on the cross, they can't get dreams of greatness out of their heads. In Sunday's Gospel text we see how sin-sick we human beings are, and how patient Jesus our Savior is with us.

Sermon: "Hand to the Plow, Not Looking Back" | Nick Braunschneider

In Jesus' encounter with the "rich young man," the lovingkindness of God shines through. Jesus doesn't tell the man what He wants to hear, but what He needs to hear. In Jesus' dialog with the man, we learn a sobering, but necessary, truth about the Kingdom of God. "The gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few" (Matthew 7:14).

Scriptures: Hebrews 3:1-6; Psalm 90:1-12; Mark 10:17-31
