All I Need Is Love?

Love on Jesus’ terms challenges us. Love my enemies? Lend without expecting a pay back? Turn the other cheek and take the second slap? This kind of love hurts. But isn’t this the nature of the love He freely gives us? How are we blessed when we love this way?

Blessings and Woes

In his message on the plain, Jesus gives blessings and praise to those who are following his example, and woes to those who are not. Neither they nor we should be surprised for Jeremiah spoke in a similar way centuries before. The Good New does not change, even if we don’t like what it means for us on temporal terms. The Lord has our eternal salvation in mind, and has secured it for us. Do we choose to follow? How can we best do it?
